Action Trigger

The action trigger is used to start a workflow from a UI action. UI actions can be attached to assets, groups, alerts, etc. Whenever these actions are invoked, a workflow is executed. The workflow is typically passed information based upon the type of object to which the action applies. For example, actions on asset groups, are passed a variable, members, that contains a list of all the assets contained within the group.

The workflow trigger configuration looks identical to the variables tab of all the other triggers. The "Passed Parameter" variable type facilitates the passing of variables from UI. See "Triggers and Data Injection"
